Capital & Maintenance Projects
Adopted by the Galveston Wharves Board of Trustees in 2019, the port’s 20-Year Strategic Master Plan is the port’s roadmap to maximize assets and grow our business. Based on extensive research and industry expertise, the 2019 plan prioritized more than $600 million in major maintenance and capital projects.
In 2026, the Wharves Board of Trustees voted to adopt a revised 2050 Master Plan to reflect changes assessed to the original 2019 plan through additions, modifications, and removal of items to reflect current times and completed projects. This revised master plan reflects over $2.4 billion in improvements and repairs over the following twenty-five years.
The below interactive map details capital projects outlined in the Galveston Wharves 2050 Master Plan. Please note this plan is not set in stone, but rather reflects a recommendation for the port’s future growth voted on by the sitting Board of Trustees and is subject to amendment based on Wharves Board approval and their assessment of current circumstances and needs for the Port of Galveston.
