Strategic Master Plan

Strategic Master Plan

Adopted by the Galveston Wharves Board of Trustees in 2019, the port’s 20-Year Strategic Master Plan is the port’s roadmap to maximize assets and grow our business. Based on extensive research and industry expertise, this plan prioritizes more than $600 million in major maintenance and capital projects, including the following:

  • Repair waterfront infrastructure
  • Build an interior roadway to facilitate traffic flow
  • Improve and expand cruise infrastructure
  • Expand the West Port to accommodate more cargo business

The port is funding major work with a combination of port revenues, grants, private partnerships and a line of credit.

The goal is to bring the port to its full potential for the benefit of our community and the region.

The Galveston Wharves is in the process of updating its 2019 Strategic Master Plan. The public is invited to an open house meeting 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, at Cruise Terminal 28.
