Chief Brown holds a Master Degree in Public Administration as well as a Master Certificate in Public Management, both from the Bush School at Texas A&M University. Additionally, he has a Bachelor of Arts in Administrative Leadership from the University of Oklahoma (OU). Chief Brown currently serves as the Chief of Police for the Port of Galveston Police Department and has over twenty-five years of law enforcement experience. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Chief Brown began his career in law enforcement as a Military Police officer, where he completed a successful tour of duty in Okinawa, Japan, gaining substantial experience in international laws and in working with foreign law enforcement agencies. In this current role, he leads the Port of Galveston Police Department with the core values: honor, courage, commitment, integrity, & leadership. In addition to leading our department, Chief Brown sits on the U.S. Coast Guard's Search & Rescue (SAR) Council and is the Chairman of the Police Academy Advisory Board at the Galveston College.
