Port of Galveston Lost and Found and other Helpful Services
Lost and Found
During a cruise, it’s not uncommon for items to go missing. Whether it’s a favorite hat left on deck, a valuable piece of jewelry misplaced in a cabin or a passport that slipped out of a pocket, losing something can be super stressful. If you find yourself in this situation, the first and most important step is to report the loss right away. Start by contacting the guest services department of the cruise line you’re sailing with. They’re usually equipped to handle lost and found items and can walk you through the process of reporting your missing property.
In addition to reporting to guest services, you should also contact the Port of Galveston lost and found department if you think your item may have been left there when you boarded or disembarked. Check in with the terminal’s security office as well, they often play a role in managing lost and found inquiries. When you make your report be prepared to give a detailed description of your lost item. The more info you can provide—color, size, brand, any distinctive markings—the better chance you have of getting your item back. Make sure to include your contact info—phone number and email—and details about your cruise—date, ship name and itinerary.

ADA Accommodations
All Port of Galveston parking lots are ADA equipped with handicap spots available on a first come first served basis.
Cruising should be enjoyable for everyone, no matter the physical limitations. For guests who need ADA accommodations on the cruise ship, iit’s important to communicate your specific needs before you travel. The earlier you tell your cruise line the better they can prepare to assist you. Contact your cruise line’s customer service department well in advance of your trip—ideally as soon as you book your cruise—to discuss your individual needs.
Accommodations can vary greatly so be specific about what you need. Whether you need an accessible cabin designed for easy mobility or boarding assistance before departure the cruise line can provide options for you. Also ask about services on board that can enhance your experience—accessible dining options or assistance navigating the ship.
Denied Boarding
Being denied boarding can be super stressful and frustrating especially if you’ve been looking forward to your cruise for a while. If you find yourself in this situation contact your cruise line immediately for assistance. They’ll be able to give you the most up to date information on why you’re being denied boarding. There can be many reasons—documentation issues, late arrival at the terminal or overbooking of the cruise.
Once you get in touch with the cruise line they’ll discuss options with you—rebooking on the same or future cruise or refund options. Make sure to keep all your ticket purchase documentation, boarding passes and any other correspondence with the cruise line. This will be helpful as you go through the rebooking or refund process and can strengthen your case if you need to escalate the matter.
