City of Galveston Accepting Galveston Wharves Board of Trustees Applications

GALVESTON, TX (July 30, 2026) – The city of Galveston is accepting applications for two positions on the seven-person Galveston Wharves Board of Trustees. The terms will begin in September 2026.

The Galveston Wharves is a self-sustaining city entity that generates and reinvests revenue from operations, bonds and grants to create economic growth, jobs and other benefits for the Galveston region. 

The Wharves Board’s responsibilities include the Galveston Wharves budget, expenditure authorizations, property acquisition, policies and other actions related to managing and controlling Galveston Wharves operations. The port director’s responsibilities include implementing policies set by the board, developing business development plans, and overseeing day-to-day administrative duties.
