A section of port roadway is closed for construction on Wharf Road between 22nd and 23rd streets through mid-October. Drivers should expect traffic delays during peak times in and around the Cruise Terminal 25-28 complex.
Vehicles entering the cruise complex at 23rd Street will turn left as usual. Vehicles heading east from Cruise Terminal 25 will exit at 22nd Street in front of Fisherman’s Wharf Restaurant. The inbound lane on 22nd will remain open. Access to the parking lots south of Fisherman’s Wharf and businesses at Pier 21 is not impacted.
The construction is part of a phased port project to improve vehicular and pedestrian safety on the port’s 2-mile-long Wharf Road. The internal roadway expansion is also intended to help alleviate traffic congestion on Harborside Drive.
