Directions to Terminal

Due to ongoing construction projects on Interstate 45 between Houston and Galveston, please allow yourself ample time to arrive for your cruise.

CRUISE TERMINAL LOCATIONS:
Terminal No. 1: 2502 Harborside Drive
Terminal No. 2: 2702 Harborside Drive

If using a GPS or Map Program, use the following:
Cruise Terminals: 22nd Street & Harborside Drive
Parking Lots: 33rd Street & Harborside Drive

Click here for a map to the cruise terminals.

Traveling Option from the North and West:

Harborside Drive (State Highway 275):

  • I-45 South to Galveston Island
  • From right lane on Causeway, take Exit 1C
  • Exit 1C Feeder Road to Harborside Drive (Hwy 275)
  • Turn left (north) on to Harborside Drive
  • Continue 4.7 miles to Kempner/22nd Street
  • Turn left on Kempner/22nd Street to Cruise Terminal

Traveling Options from the East:

State Highway 87 - West to Galveston Island using Vehicle Ferry System (please allow additional time due to delays at the Ferry landing)

  • Exit Ferry on to Ferry Road/Hwy 87
  • Continue Ferry Road to Harborside Drive
  • Turn right (west) on Harborside Drive
  • Continue approximately 20 city blocks
  • Turn right on Kempner/22nd Street to Cruise Terminal

The Galveston-Port Bolivar Ferry is open to the general public; there is a curfew between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., giving authorities the right to question anyone venturing between the ferry landing and Rollover Pass Bridge.

The state will operate two vessels daily. One will run 24 hours, and the other will go in service at 6:30 a.m. and run for eight to 12 hours, depending on the traffic

There should be no issue with commuters using the highway to pass through the storm-torn areas as long as they refrain from entering neighborhoods that are in process of being restored.

Alternative travel option:

I-10 East to Baytown
Connect to 146 South
To I-45 South

For passenger convenience, safety and best service, the Port of Galveston encourages our cruise visitors to proceed directly to the cruise terminal complex to drop-off luggage and passengers. Porters are available to assist with luggage tags and directions to the parking lots, beginning the embarkation process. A free shuttle will return you to the terminal.

Upon your return to the Port after your cruise, you have the option to return directly to the port-operated parking lots to retrieve your vehicle without your luggage, or you can depart the terminal area to the parking lots on a different port-operated shuttle with your luggage. Depending on when you disembark the ship, there may be a short to moderate wait for the luggage-capable shuttle.

Please note that only lots marked on the map as Port of Galveston Lots A and B are secured, lighted parking lots monitored by the Port of Galveston Police Department.

Private parking lots are not affiliated with the Port of Galveston. The Port of Galveston has no jurisdiction over private parking lots.

IMPORTANT TAXI CAB INFORMATION:
There is a high demand for taxicabs during "peak" debarkation hours. At times, taxicabs may not be readily available. Please be patient and prepared to wait as other taxicabs return to the Cruise Terminals throughout the debarkation morning rush!
